Edit Copy and Calls to Action

Write product video copy, offer text, and calls to action that stay readable in PufferCut templates.

Good product video copy is short, specific, and easy to read while the product is moving. PufferCut can use Shopify product data, but you should review the copy before rendering.

Choose one selling job

Before editing text, decide what the video needs to do:

  • introduce a new product
  • show a product detail
  • promote an offer
  • explain a bundle
  • move shoppers to the product page

Trying to do every job in one short video usually makes the result crowded.

Keep product titles readable

Shopify product titles are often written for catalog management, not video. If a title is long, rewrite it for the video card or template text.

For example:

  • Instead of: Premium Stonewashed Linen Weekender Tote Bag - Sand / Large
  • Use: Linen Weekender Tote

Make offer text concrete

Use offer copy that a shopper can understand quickly:

  • 20% off this week
  • Free shipping over $75
  • New spring color
  • Bundle and save
  • Ships in 2 days

Avoid vague claims such as best quality, must-have, or game changer unless the product page supports that claim clearly.

Write a direct call to action

Good calls to action are short:

  • Shop now
  • View product
  • Choose your color
  • Build your bundle
  • See details

Match the CTA to the destination. If the video will live on a product page, See details may be less useful than a benefit or offer line. If the video will run as an ad, a direct shopping CTA is usually clearer.

Preview for text fit

Before rendering, check every scene in the preview. If a line wraps too much, covers the product, or feels hard to read on mobile, shorten it.

Use the supported formats and sizes guide when adapting copy for vertical, square, and landscape versions.
