Publish PufferCut videos to Shopify product pages

Add PufferCut videos to Shopify product pages, understand how publishing works, and avoid the most common storefront display mistakes.

PufferCut can create product videos from Shopify product data and, when the render is ready, store the finished video in Shopify Files. If product-page publishing is available for the render, PufferCut can associate the video file with the selected product.

Before you publish to a product page

Check the finished video before using it on a live product page:

  • the product is recognizable
  • the offer and price are accurate
  • the video format suits the product media gallery
  • the brand colors and logo look correct
  • the call to action makes sense on a product page

For many product pages, Square or Landscape formats are easier to fit into a theme media gallery than a full-height vertical story.

How product-page publishing works

When a render is completed, PufferCut uploads the finished .mp4 file to Shopify Files. If a product page attachment is created, the video file is linked to the product that was used for the render.

The exact storefront display depends on your Shopify theme. Some themes show product media automatically in the product gallery; others may require theme settings or manual placement.

Removing a video from a product page

If a rendered video is currently attached to a product page, the video library can show a remove action. Removing it from the product page disconnects the file reference from that product. It does not necessarily delete copies you have downloaded or used elsewhere.

If the video does not appear on the storefront

Check:

  1. The render is marked ready.
  2. The video is attached to the expected product.
  3. Your theme supports video media in the product gallery.
  4. The product page has been refreshed after publishing.
  5. The video format is appropriate for the theme layout.

If the issue continues, contact support with the store domain, product name, render name, and a screenshot of the product media area in Shopify admin.

Common product-page publishing mistakes

  • using a vertical story format where a square or landscape cut would fit the theme better
  • publishing without checking the first frame on mobile
  • assuming every Shopify theme will display product video the same way
  • adding video that repeats the image gallery without clarifying anything new

Manual use

You can also download the finished video and upload or place it manually in the channels where you need it, such as a product page section, email campaign, social post, or ad workflow.
